Often we get stuck dwelling on failures or mistakes from our past. It’s easy to lose hope on what's on the road ahead when you’re focused on the rearview window. Philippians 3:13 is strong encouragement to forget the past. And know that you can transform yourself by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2. Greg shares his thoughts about what causes these painful memories that, in turn, causes us to lose hope. He refers to John 10:10, Ephesians 5:15, 17, John 16:33. Remember that whatever happened in the past, God has not forgotten you. He never leaves you. Next week we’ll talk about how we can heal our past. Take the words of Romans 15:13 to heart, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him.”

In this episode, Greg shares stories of individuals who feel they are alone in their personal struggles. They look fine on the outside, but inside they are dying. Everyone is struggling with some issue. And it is easy to get discouraged and lose hope because you think you’re alone. You’re not! Rabbi Jonathan Sacks said, “It takes no courage to be an optimist, but it takes a great deal of courage to have hope.” We dig a little deeper into 1 Corinthians 13:13, a popular scripture read at weddings about faith, hope and love. Greg shares a great quote by John Eldredge from his book, All Things New. “ . . . a life without faith has no meaning, a life without love isn’t worth living, a life without hope is a dark cavern from which you cannot escape . . . faith, hope & love are mighty forces . . . hope is the most critical role.” Remember what Hebrews 6:19 says, “Hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls" There are many ways to build hope.
