Greg continues his conversation with April Ballentine. Friday we left off with her being shot 5 times in August 2013. She has a powerful story of how she overcame Fear and, despite being paralyzed from the breast down, now works as an advocate for others of domestic violence at The Amanda Center.
The Amanda Center is a 24-hour point of contact for victims of domestic violence where they can file emergency petitions, speak to authorities and get connected with community resources. It is located on the first floor of the Fayette County District Courthouse in downtown Lexington.

A highly sought after speaker, Dr. Sleeth has spoken at more than 1,000 churches, campuses, and events, including serving as the monthly guest preacher at The Washington National Cathedral. Recognized by Newsweek as one of the nation’s most influential evangelical leaders, Dr. Sleeth is the executive director of Blessed Earth, founder of the Seminary Stewardship Alliance, and author of numerous creation care books and articles. He lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife of nearly four decades. Their grown children and their spouses serve in full-time medical missions in Kenya and in pastoral ministry in Kentucky.

Many of us are working through hard, dirty work to get to Jesus to receive healing. Mark Chapter 2 tells the story of four men who carried a paralyzed man to Jesus, digging through the roof above where Jesus was preaching, to lower him on a mat for Jesus to heal.
